Just as we teach our children to be safe around water and when crossing the road, we also need to teach our children body safety. Body Safety Australia delivers this message in a non-threatening manner through stories, songs, games and activities.

Body Safety Australia works in partnership with children's primary caregivers and their teachers in keeping children safe. We use a variety of mediums including songs, interactive games, stories, and age-appropriate educational activities with the children.

Our early childhood program comprises of 1 x 2hr parent/carer workshop and a series of 2 x 45 minute pre-school incursions that utilise hands-on, and engaging group activities. A body safety resource pack goes home with every child.

Our Parent/Carer workshop covers:

  • Childhood sexual abuse; the risk, myths and misconceptions
  • Ten key areas of body safety including consent, assertive communication and identifying trusted adults
  • Identifying grooming behaviours
  • Age-appropriate play
  • Digital technology, grooming and abuse prevention
  • Practical body safety strategies to use at home
  • Supporting the at-risk child including self-care

Our early childhood incursions covers:

  • Identifying our emotions (EQ)
  • Naming our bodies
  • Consent and bodily autonomy
  • Assertive communication skills
  • Identifying our safe adults
