Imagine Me:
Promoting Positive Body Image for Children and Young People
Imagine Me: Building Self Esteem and Confidence
We are excited to introduce our new program Imagine Me.
Imagine Me promotes positive body image and help to prevent eating disorders in children and young people.
Children learn from the world around them, and media, technology and online games can impact the way they see themselves and others. It is never too young for children to learn about self acceptance and appreciation, and to learn how to care and support their physical, mental and emotional capacity.
Adolescence can be a challenging time as young people go through a period of transition and growth. These years are critical in forming their identity, relationship to self and others, perception of the world and so much more.
After requests from schools and educators seeing an increase in mental health issues, unhealthy attitudes and beliefs, eating disorders and other risky behaviours, we have designed a program that brings our whole-community approach and evidence-based strategies to tackle issues of self esteem, identity, bullying and body image.
When young people learn to be themselves and love who they are - exactly as they are - they are empowered in the truest sense of the word.
What we deliver
Our experienced educators deliver an engaging and uplifting program designed to aid students in developing healthy self-esteem, positive body-image and become more resilient to the damaging messaging that surrounds them both on and offline.
This program is perfect for schools and organisations that want to facilitate cultural change and provide students with positive self-awareness and greater confidence.
All classes involve theoretical learning, group work and individual activities.
Increased self-esteem and self-confidence
Appreciation of their bodies and how they function
Resilience in the age of social media
Increased self-respect and respect for others
Awareness of perfectionism and avoidant behaviour
Self care, care for others and help seeking
This program is delivered in alignment with Australian Curriculum Health and Physical Education Learning Areas, the Victorian Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships Curriculum and the ‘Eating Disorders: the Way Forward’ National Framework.
All sessions are body positive and acknowledge the particular needs of children with a physical disability or who are living with trauma.
