Body Safety Australia are looking for primary schools in Brisbane and Townsville to take part in a pilot program to help with feedback and further development of our programs in Queensland.
As well as educating and empowering staff and students in body safety and respectful relationships, participating schools will receive the program at cost price and have the opportunity to lead the charge in prioritising child safety and well-being in their community.

Announced on the 25th of November through the Department of Education and Training’s social media channels, the Early Years Body Safety Superstars program was one of 20 finalists shortlisted from 115 nominations across all categories.

Semann & Slattery, as well as Body Safety Australia, are working hard to help educators and teachers understand how this could happen in our sector, and what we can all do to help minimise the risk.
Our panel came together with one thing in mind: to share our own deeply personal stories to make a difference to the way in which LGBTIQ adults and children are treated, seen and understood in early childhood education and care settings. Through our sharing of stories, we covered many matters related to children, adults, play, relationships, environments, resourcing and language. We also shared statistics related to LGBTIQ youth, not to shock, but to stress the vital impact that our work can have on stopping our youth from becoming just another statistic.
In an Australia-wide first, the Victorian government is providing $160 million in extra support to funded kindergartens over the next four years. According to the 2015 Australian Early Development Census, one in five Victorian children start school ‘developmentally vulnerable’, the impact of which can be felt across a lifetime.

While QAnon and #SaveOurChildren are gaining momentum in raising awareness about paedophilia and child abductions, the reality is that these movements are in fact distracting us from the reality of child sexual abuse in Australia.
